Raju, who is most known for playing the stage persona "Gajodhar," was born on December 25, 1963, into a middle-class family in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Ramesh Chandra Srivastava, his father, was a poet. Since he was little, he had a good imitation skill.
With his clever one-liners and humorous insights on some extremely current topics in life, Raju carved out a place for himself in the world of stand-up comedy. He became well-known with groundbreaking stand-up comedy talent competition programme "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge," which debuted its inaugural season in 2005. In Hindi movies like "Maine Pyar Kiya," "Baazigar," "Bombay to Goa" (remake), and "Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya," he made an appearance. He participated in the third season of "Bigg Boss."
How he died ?
At the age of 58, well-known comedian Raju Srivastava passed suddenly. At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, the comedian passed away. On August 10, Raju suffered a heart attack and was subsequently hospitalised to AIIMS. At 10.20 am, the comedian passed away after spending 41 days in the hospital. On Thursday, Raju last rites will be conducted in Delhi.
A heart attack struck the 58-year-old stand-up comic as he was exercising in a South Delhi gym. When Raju was transferred to the hospital, he reportedly complained that he felt nervous. The following day, he had an angioplasty, and ever then, he has been on a ventilator. He was on the treadmill performing his normal exercise when all of a sudden, he lost his balance and fell. He had a heart attack and was sent to the AIIMS hospital.
On August 25, there were reports of Raju regaining consciousness, but his brother Dipoo Srivastava told ABP News that the family had no such information from the doctors. Dipoo also said that the comedian has shown minor improvement and is recovering slowly. Over the past few days, the comedians health had experienced significant fluctuations and died.
