When a person who is constantly looking for a job is unable to obtain work, they are said to be unemployed. Unemployment is regarded as a leading sign of the economy's health. The most widely used indicator of labor force participation, which is calculated by dividing the total number of jobless employees by the total number of workers in the labor force.

Causes of Unemployment:

1. Slow Rate of Economic Growth: Slow economic growth is one of the most popular causes of Unemployment. In the Slow Rate of Economic growth, employment opportunities created under the plans could not keep peace with the addition to the labor force.

2. Poor Education System: India's current education system is deeply flawed, as it makes no scope for technical and vocational education.

3. Population Explosion: It has not been possible to generate so many employment opportunities to absorb the large growing labor force.

4. Labor-intensive sectors suffering from the slowdown in private investment.

These are the major causes of Unemployment in India.

Unemployment is one of the worst problem in India. Students complete their graduations but are still unemployed. In the search of jobs, they do great effort but remain unable to find it.

Causes of Unemployment :

1. Caste System -

Caste is given the great importance in the terms of job. Sometimes, a deserving candidate do not get a job because the person belonging to a particular community is preferred.

2. Joint Family System -

In the big families you can see that persons are sitting free there and do not do any work because they depend on the income of the whole family.

3. Increase of Universities -

The universities are increasing due to which students are just doing there degrees without any proper knowledge. As a result of this, they fail to get a job and remain unemployed.

4. Immobility of labour -

People do not prefer to go away to far off places because they are in attached with the families. The other factors like language or climate are also responsible for the low mobility of labour.

5. Slow developing of industries -

The rise  in the industrial growth  is too low. As the population is increasing so all will not be able to get employed due to less industrial area.
