Tense means "Time". Time is usually represented with the use of tenses in English. The time that has passed away is represented using Past Tense. Time that is being continuing is given by Present tense and the time that will come is represented by Future Tense.
1. PAST TENSE :
Verbs in the past tense are used to describe things that have already happened in the past.
Simple Past Tense - Formula: S+ V2 + O
- eg- She went to school.
Past Continuous Tense - Formula: S + was/ were + V1-ing + O
- eg- She was going to school.
Past Perfect tense - Formula: S + had + V3 + O
- eg - She had gone to school.
2. PRESENT TENSE :
The action or event that occurred or is currently occurring in the present is referred to as being in the present tense.
Simple Present Tense - Formula: S+ V1 s/es + O
- eg- She goes to school daily.
Present Continuous Tense - Formula: S + is/am/are + V1-ing + O
- eg- She is going to school daily.
Present Perfect tense - Formula: S + has/have + V3 + O
- eg - She has gone to school.
3. FUTURE TENSE :
The verb tense known as the future is employed to describe actions or states that will occur in the future.
Simple Future Tense - Formula: S+ will/shall +V1 + O
- eg- She will go to school.
Future Continuous Tense - Formula: S + will/shall + be + V1-ing + O
- eg- She will be going to school.
Future Perfect tense - Formula: S + will+ have + V3 + O
- eg - She will have gone to school.
