What do the different color on number plates of car represent ?

There are the different colored number plates on the car. What does this mean ?

Most people usually had seen white or yellow colored number plates. However, there are various colored number plates which have different meanings. Let's discuss;

There are 7 colored number plates available in India.

1. Red colored number plate :

These are used by the President of India and governors of states. They have the Emblem of India in gold, embossed on a red colored plate.

2. White colored number plate : 

These are used just for the private purposes and no one can not use it for any commercial purpose.

3. Yellow colored number plate :

If there is yellow plate on a vehicle, then that vehicle can be used for the commercial purpose. But, the driver must have  a commercial driving permit.

4. Black colored number plate :

If there are yellow alphabets on a black colored number plate then these can be used for the commercial purpose even if driver don't have a driving permit.

5. Light Blue number plate :

The vehicles belonging to foreign consulates have a white alphabets on a light blue background. These number plates have UN, CD, or CC.

6. Green colored number plate :

Electric vehicles have the green number plates.

7. Defence Number plate :

This number plate is provided to vehicles of the defence forces.
