Virgin vegetation may be defined as the community of plants grown naturally without any interference or help of human beings. It has been left undisturbed by humans for long time. Cultivated crops and fruits, orchards cannot be considered as virgin vegetation.
Regions like Himalayas, hilly regions of central India and Marusthal are the examples of virgin vegetation. Tropical forests and Mangrove forests are also included in virgin vegetation.
