Hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, dental clinics and ambulance have "plus sign". This plus sign is referred to as "Red Cross" sign. You will see the Red cross in every medical related field.
It was inaugurated on 9th Feb, 1863 in Zineva, Switzerland. Jean Henri Dunant is the Father of Red Cross.
Most of the plus sign are made up of red color, however, plus sign appears with the combination of red and white colors.
Either person is literate or illiterate, but by seeing the red cross, he is able to understand that situation is related to medical treatment. Cross is the perfect symbol to make the people understand about medical. ICRC,s Logo is also used in dispensaries, medical shops or medical camps.
Its benefit is that people get alert after viewing it. By watching the Ambulance, they come to know it is emergency and medical staff is going to help someone and there is a need to give it a way.
It was first used by the staff who treat the soldiers fighting in the battles. Because of red cross, it becomes clear that he/she is going to treat the soldiers and they are send to the required place for help. Red cross is used by the medical sectors from that period of time.
