Rose water is a flavor-infused water created by soaking rose petals in water. It is the hydrosol component of the rose-petal distillate, a by-product of the process used to make rose oil for perfume. In addition to being utilised for religious purposes, rose water is also used to flavour food and as an ingredient in some cosmetic and medical products.
Procedure :
The simplest method for making rose water is to simmer it. Gather your rose petals, distilled water, a sizable saucepan, a sieve, measuring glasses, and a container that is sealed before you begin .
1. 1/2 to 1 cup of fresh petals should be obtained by removing the petals from the stems (four cups of dried petals are sufficient). For your information, 2 to 3 full flowers can be made from 1 cup of fresh petals. Once you get the quantity you want, wash the petals in tap water to remove any dirt or insects.
2. Just enough water (approximately 3/2 cups) should cover the petals. Any additional will weaken the rose water.
3. Simmer the water in the saucepan by placing it on the stove. Cover it as it begins to simmer and lower the heat. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes, or until the colour has faded from the petals. Leave the lid on and turn off the heat to allow it to cool entirely.
4. To separate the petals from the fresh rose water, use a sieve. Afterward, throw away the petals.
5. The easiest way to preserve rose water is in a spray bottle or jar. It can be stored in your bathroom cupboard for up to a week and in the refrigerator for up to a month.
