The seeds of two distinct plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae are used to make the spice cardamom. The seeds, which are found in tiny, thin pods, are used to make the spice.

Procedure of growing :

1. Although you can obtain cardamom seeds from grocery shop capsules, it is recommended to purchase cardamom seeds from an agricultural supply business. In order for the soil to drain gradually, it should be slightly sandy.

2. The seeds should be sown 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) deep. A couple of the seeds should be pushed into the pots. Then, add 18 inch (0.32 cm) of soil to each one. Give the seeds some water to completely moisten the soil.

3. After between 30 and 45 days, the cardamom ought to start to grow. This signifies that the cardamom plants should start to emerge from the ground. Keep watering the seedlings until they have at least two leaves, then remove them from the container but keep the soil moist.

4. Pick a location in the garden with soil that drains effectively. Choose a planting location with some shade because cardamom plants cannot survive in full sunlight.

5. Cardamom requires high humidity to flourish in your garden because it grows in subtropical forests. The humidity level must be around 75% for planting cardamom outside.

6. Plant the seedlings of cardamom 1 to 1 1/2 inches (2.5 to 3.8 cm) deep. Every day, check the soil with your fingers to make sure it is the most. Water the soil until it is completely submerged since it should never become dry.

7. Twice a month during the growing season, add fertiliser. Maintain your normal watering and fertilisation of the plants. Pull one of the cardamom fruit capsules as they start to dry out a bit to check if it breaks readily.
