Many individuals confuse these two processes, but the distinction between hearing and listening is critical.

"Hearing is through the ears, but listening is through the mind," someone wisely observed. Hearing and listening both require the use of ears, but they are not the same. Hearing is the ability to receive sound waves and noise through the ear canal. It's the ability to hear things.

Listening, on the other hand, is when you hear sound waves and comprehend them by paying close attention to the speaker's words and sentences. It refers to one's ability to appropriately hear and interpret the message sent by the other party throughout the communication process.
