Here are the steps to set up a Google account :

1. Even if you already have the old Google Pay app, you must download the new version from the Play Store if you do not already have it.

2. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to create a Google Pay account.

3. Launch the Google Pay programme.

4. Read the Google Pay Terms of Service, agree to them, then tap Continue.

5. Tap Next after entering your phone number.

6. Next, enter the verification code that was emailed to you.

7. Review this data, then select Next.

8. When using Google Pay, click Yes, let friends find me if you want individuals who have your phone number to be able to see your name and account photo. Or select Not now. The option "Not now" prevents others from sending you money.

9. Tap Yes, earn rewards if you want Google Pay to utilise your payment information to offer you cashback, discounts, or other qualified purchases. Or select Not now.

10. Tap "Yes, personalise" or "Yes, but ask me again in three months" if you agree that Google Pay may use your payment information to tailor your experience. Tap no thanks if not.
Tap Set screen lock and adhere to the on-screen prompts.

11. You are now prepared to use Google Pay.
