Have you seen something in the sky that looks like an insect and is large in size ?
When we blink our eyes, we are unable to see them and when we try to look at them again then we can see them. The floaters are called as "Muscae Volitantes" in Science. It is a Latin word and its meaning is flying bird.
What actually are the eye floaters ?
These are not the things that are present in sky, but these resist inside our eyes. we think something is flying and is alive too. However, they have wings of proteins and nutrients that put shadow on the retina of your eyes. You may know things are visible to us because of retina. Due to this shadow, we see the eye floaters.
Our eyes contain the jelly liquid. It's normal if you see them flying on blinking. You may also see their higher density. There are two reasons for this :
1. The lens changes their size according to the distance of objects. When the brightness is high, lens will get small in size and you will see high density of object.
2. The density depends on the distance of the object from retina. Higher density means object is close to the retina and vice-versa.
If you ever notice a sudden increase in eye floaters, please contact an eye specialist.
