1. Honey
Dip your finger in honey, which has a calming effect, and give it to your infant two or three times a day to lick. If your child is older than five years old, mix some cinnamon powder with a spoonful and give it to them.
2. Rubbing Chest
A chest rub, such as Vicks BabyRub, can relieve congestion in children older than two. Your youngster may benefit from using the product, which contains aloe, eucalyptus, lavender, and rosemary.
3. Carom Seeds
The cough can be controlled by adding tulsi leaves and carom seeds (ajwain) to boiling water. Additionally, it aids in clearing up chest congestion.
4. Rest
Spending time in bed, especially if your child has a fever, helps the body fight infection. A sick child does not need to be isolated for several days. But make an effort to maintain some composure and prevent things from escalating.
5. Turmeric Powder
It is well known that turmeric can heal viral diseases like a cold and a cough. Make your child drink warm milk with turmeric powder every night. It instantly soothes a sore throat and a runny nose. Milk gives kids energy because it is a good source of calcium.
6. Salty warm water
A sore throat might be relieved by gargling with a saline solution. Ice chip sucking also relieves discomfort. For older kids, cough pills, lozenges, or even hard candy will soothe the burn.
7. Steam
Get your child to take steam if they have a cold and are having problems breathing. Simply heat water in a large bowl and force the child to breathe in the hot fumes for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Another option is to make the child stand in the bathroom while the hot water is running.
