Before putting any comments on the answer lets understand what is the depression.
When you expected someone or something to act in your favor, or for the world or destiny to act in your favor, and it did not. In other words, you are simply opposed to what is occurring. Perhaps you are opposed to a person, a situation, or perhaps life itself. As a result, the depression will get more severe.
When two people fight, if one wise man simply handles them correctly, the two people who are attempting to kill each other one moment will drop it and become friends the next. This is not true for the depressed individual. This will be with him for the rest of his life. These people keep sharpening their knives and cutting their own heart, whether consciously or unconsciously. Why would anyone want to continue causing themselves harm? It is usually done to gain sympathy. For a severely depressed person, ordinary sympathy is insufficient.
