I am fed up of wearing the spectacles. I have heard of Lasik eye surgery to remove spectacles. I want to know it's procedure and is it safe or not.

Lasik eye surgery is an alternative to the glasses or the contact lenses. It is the safest and the most recommended procedure to correct the vision problems.

LASIK surgery is completed in a time of 30 minutes or less. You have to lie on your back in a chair. You will be given a medicine for relaxation. Then your doctor uses an instrument to hold your eyelids open after numbing. After that, a suction ring is placed on your eye just before cutting the corneal flap may cause a feeling of pressure.

Surgeon will use a small blade or laser to cut a small hinged flap away from the front of your eye. Folding back the flap will help in reshaping your cornea. After reshaping the cornea, the surgeon lays the flap back into place. The flap will heal without the use of stitches. If you need LASIK surgery in both eyes, the procedure will occur on the same day.

It is generally a risk free surgery. Your eye may get dry after it, but for it's treatment certain eye drops are given.
