What is the procedure of Suturing ?

Yesterday, I got to know that one of my friend get injured. So, doctor have to apply the stutches. What is the procedure of suturing ?

Suturing means to stitch the tissues of the body together. There arises a difference in the tissues at the time of injury. Suturing is done by the different types as given below:

1. Intercepted - Simple suturing is done under this in which only small size wounds are sutured.

2. Continuous Suture - It is a series of suture which are done on the deep wounds.

Now, let us start the suturing procedure.

First, you have to wash your hands and then wear the gloves and mask. Open the Kidney tray and clean the wound with spirit and cotton. Apply the local anesthetic with the help of syringe on the corners of wound. Then clean the wound with normal saline.

After that, use the sharp scissors to cut the dead skin. Suture the margins of the wound carefully. Side by side suture the wound with the use of needle and thread. Also, cut the non-absorbing material and tight the interrupted sutures.

After completing the suturing, clean the wound with soft hands and do the bandaging at the end.
