Plants require a variety of nutrients, and they require various nutrients in varying quantities. It is a smart idea to do some research on the varieties of plants you have to find out what requirements they have. While plants do generally receive and use vitamins, the majority of their nourishment come from minerals and other elements.

1. Vitamin B

According to the University of California, Davis, the assertion that vitamin B-1 benefits plants by promoting root development or lessening transplant shock, as many advertising suggest, is unfounded. However, according to studies from Advanced Nutrients, applying B vitamin supplements results in plants that are more robust and yield more than plants that do not receive the treatment.

2. Vitamin E

Vitamin E supplements are thought to reduce a plant sensitivity to low temperatures, according to a University of Toronto and Michigan State University study. The outcome might be the emergence of plant species that can withstand low temperatures, which would help gardeners in colder locations by improving production and crop quality. Gardeners in colder climates might test whether giving vitamin E to growing plants would alter their crops longevity or growth.

3. Vitamin C

Professor of biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside, Daniel Gallie reports that vitamin C seems to promote photosynthesis, raise a plant pollution tolerance, and make fruit more nutrient-dense. According to his research, vitamin C supplements reduce brown spots, prevent stunted growth, and increase crop yields by protecting against ozone, the most harmful component of smog.
