Today I visited a doctor regarding my son stomach upset. A child patient came there. He was bitten by a dog. So I was just curious to know what should the first aid we do if any dog bites someone ?

Step 1: Maintain your composure, and the first thing you should do after a dog bite is to establish some distance between yourself and the dog. This will lessen the likelihood of another dog bite.

Step 2: Then, thoroughly wash the wound with warm water and soap.

Step 3: Stop the bleeding by gently pushing down with a clean cloth to stop the flow.

Step 4: As a precaution, apply an antibiotic lotion or ointment to the area once the bleeding has stopped.

Step 5: Maintain the bandage on the wound.

Step 6: Infection symptoms include redness, swelling, increasing discomfort, fever, and pus.
