The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance examination held in India to determine eligibility for admission to various engineering institutes.

  • JEE Main is an entrance exam for BE or B.Tech programmes at several NITs and other institutions across the country. JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
  • There is no minimum percentage requirement for appearing in JEE Main. However, candidates seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs must get a minimum of 75% in the qualifying exam (65% for SC/ ST students) or be in the top 20%ile in the relevant boards' class 12th examination.
  • Students can apply for the JEE Mains exams as many times as they want because there is no attempt restriction, but they can only apply for the JEE Advanced exams twice in two years.
