Differences between Convex and Concave mirror :
1. Convex mirror has a reflecting surface away from the centre of curvature, whereas concave mirror has a reflecting surface towards the centre of curvature.
2. Convex mirror is a diverging mirror but, concave mirror is a converging mirror.
3. Convex mirror always forms a virtual image and concave mirror can form a both virtual and real image as well.
4. Convex mirror has a wider area of view while convex mirror give a magnified image of objects.
5. Centre of curvature in convex mirror lies behind the mirror whereas it is opposite in the case of concave mirror.
6. The focal length of convex mirror is positive and focal length of concave mirror is negative.
7. Convex mirror forms a tiny image of object but an enlarged image is formed with the help of a concave mirror.
8. Convex mirror is formed by painting the interior surface of a spherical mirror and by painting outer surface of spherical mirror, concave mirror is formed.
9. In case of convex mirror, An image cannot be projected on a screen however, in case of concave mirror, an image can be projected on screen.
10. Convex mirrors are used in magnifying glasses and telescopes while Concave mirrors are used in torch lights and automotive headlights
