Have you watched the map of India ?

You may notice that there are continuous states in the north - eastern side of map. These seven continuous states are called as seven sisters.

The name of the seven sisters are :

1. Arunachal Pradesh

2. Assam

3. Meghalaya

4. Manipur

5. Mizoram

6. Nagaland

7. Tripura

Each state has its own features. These states are called as seven sisters because they are independent of one another. These states are connected with each other through a common place known as Siliguri Corridor. This is the only way to reach out there.

All these states have a rich heritage and are famous for their culture and languages spoken. However, Sikkim is not a part of them, instead it is known as the single brother of the seven sisters.

Capitals of Seven Sisters :

1. Arunachal Pradesh - Itanagar

2. Assam - Dispur

3. Nagaland - Kohima

4. Manipur - Imphal

5. Meghalaya - Shillong

6. Tripura - Agartala

7. Manipur - Aizawl
