Mint plant is a member of the genus Mentha, which contains many species. The various varieties of mint are named after the flavor of essential oils found in them and the shape of their leaves.

The most common varieties that we grow are peppermints (named after their peppery aroma), spearmints (named after their spear-like leaves), and many more! Furthermore, the basic quality of mint remains consistent across all species.

The taste and flavor of various species vary from sweetness to slightly pungency due to differences in the percentage of essential aromatic oils present.

Spearmint is thought to be the oldest species of Mentha. It is commonly known as mint or pudina and has traditionally been used to treat ailments.
