Cake ingredients for home baking
- About 150 gms of plain maida flour, or 1 cup
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 120 ml or 1/2 cup milk
- Vanilla essence, 2 teaspoons
- salt, a pinch
- a base of 1.5 cups of crystal salt and sand
How to Prepare Cooker for Baking ?
- Take an aluminium pressure cooker or heavy-bottomed cooker
- Sand or salt should thoroughly cover the base.
- Put a plate on top of the salt or sand.
- Over this, place a ring or vessel holder.
- Take off the weight and gasket from the lid.
How to Make a Cake at Home
1. Allow the butter to soften until a spoon can be used to crush it.
2. Using a hand or electric whisk/beater, combine sugar and butter. Blend thoroughly till fluffy and light.
3. One at a time, beat well after each addition of the eggs. Make sure there are no lumps while mixing the maida, salt, and baking soda.
4. Alternately add milk and this slowly to the egg mixture.
5. Stop whisking and use a spatula to gently fold this mixture until all of the batter is smooth and well-incorporated. Avoid over-beating. Blend in the vanilla essence.
6. Place the prepared pressure cooker over the pot holder/ring and pour the prepared mixture into the prepared tin.
7. The cooker should have a lid on it (without the gasket and weight). Bake for 50–60 minutes at a low flame.
8. A knife inserted for testing should come out clean, indicating that the item has been properly baked.
9. Remove it and let it to totally cool.
10. Slice the cake after it has completely cooled by inverting it on a wire rack.
